On August 25-27, 2022, the first China Postnatal Metatechnology Conference was grandly held in Qingdao.
This conference is under the authoritative guidance of the Probiotics Branch of the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology, and is organized by Qingdao Agricultural University, Qingdao Special Food Research Institute, the Key Laboratory of Dairy Biotechnology and Engineering of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, the National Functional Food Engineering Technology Research Center of Jiangnan University, and Beijing Ketao Hengtong Biotechnology Co., Ltd.Jointly organized by Qingdao Yuanda Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and China Resources Jiangzhong Pharmaceutical Group. Nearly 20 top experts from all over the country, including Changjiang Scholars, National Outstanding Youth, and National Excellent Youth, gave wonderful presentations on "Basic Research and Industrialization of Postnatal Elements" and "Postnatal Elements and Big Health". Representatives from more than 60 industry leading enterprises attended the conference to jointly explore the path of promoting high-quality development of the big health industry through Postnatal Elements.

New concepts and industries require joint development of industry, academia, and research
In recent years, there has been an explosive growth in international research on epigenetics, mainly focusing on the efficacy evaluation and mechanism of action of epigenetics. An increasing number of studies have shown that postbiotics have multiple effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti allergic, antibacterial, regulating gut microbiota, modulating immunity, and preventing and treating various diseases such as constipation and enteritis. In view of the continuous deepening of research and understanding on epigenetics, as well as the huge market potential for the industrial application of epigenetics, in May 2021, the International Association of Probiotics and Prebiotics Science issued a consensus statement on epigenetics for the first time globally, clarifying the definition and scope of epigenetics for the first time. In August 2022, the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology organized experts and representatives from the probiotics industry to jointly write a review titled "Research Status and Industrial Applications of Postbiotics", which was published in the well-known EI journal "Chinese Journal of Food Science and Technology" in the domestic food industry. This review was the first to publish a consensus statement on Postbiotics in China, clarifying the definition, efficacy, and scope of Postbiotics. From then on, China embarked on the era of Postnatal Generation 1.0. In this context, Chairman Peng Chuantao of Yuanda Biotechnology, together with Academician Chen Wei of Jiangnan University, Professor Zhang Heping, Director of the Key Laboratory of Dairy Biology and Engineering of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Vice President Zhao Jinshan of Qingdao Agricultural University, and representatives of several enterprises such as Ketuo Biology and Jiangzhong Pharmaceutical, discussed and believed that it is necessary to convene academic and industrial colleagues to discuss the research and industrialization development of the emerging metaverse industry in China at the beginning of its development. This will be of great benefit to the healthy and rapid development of China's emerging metaverse industry.

Postnatal Elements - An Excellent Health Factor
The potential for the industrial application of epigenetic elements is enormous, on the one hand, in terms of their composition and functions. Postbiotics include dead bacterial cells, components of bacterial cells such as peptidoglycan and phosphoric acid, as well as various active metabolites such as extracellular polysaccharides, bacteriocins, vitamins, short chain fatty acids, and organic acids. The diversity of epigenetic components also endows it with multifunctionality, including anti-inflammatory, anti allergic, pathogenic bacterial inhibition, regulation of gut microbiota, immune regulation, prevention and treatment of various diseases such as constipation and enteritis. On the other hand, we need to talk about the advantages of offspring. In summary, epigenetic elements have three major advantages: higher safety, higher stability, and a wider range of target functions. In terms of safety, probiotics have higher safety and are also suitable for some special populations such as newborns and sensitive populations, while probiotics pose certain risks to these sensitive populations. Postbiotics are not affected by the interference and inhibition of antibiotics, while probiotics are difficult to use simultaneously with antibiotics and carry the risk of transmitting resistance genes; In terms of stability, the secondary generation element is more stable, more resistant to environmental influences such as oxygen and temperature, and has characteristics such as heat resistance, acid resistance, and alkali resistance. The active factor is not easily destroyed. Therefore, compared to live probiotics, it has a longer shelf life; In addition, epigenetic elements have a wider range of targets, not limited to the intestine, but can also be targeted in the oral cavity, skin, urogenital tract, or nasopharynx, and are more easily absorbed by the intestine, improving utilization efficiency. Therefore, the application scope of epigenetic elements is very wide, and they can be used in multiple industries such as food, health products, cosmetics, feed, plant nutrition, etc., with huge market potential. According to our customer types, we have currently collaborated with nearly a hundred enterprises in the fields of food, health products, cosmetics, livestock and poultry breeding, pet feed, and more.

Never forget the original intention and persist in deep cultivation
Founder of Yuanda Biotechnology, Li Zhaojie, stated that although the international consensus statement on the generation of metaelements was only released in May last year, our team's research has already begun. In 2014, Peng Chuantao went to the University of Copenhagen in Denmark to pursue a doctoral degree, mainly focusing on the fields of microbial fermentation and epigenetics. In 2018, Dr. Peng Chuantao, who had just graduated with a PhD from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and returned to China, followed Professor Zhang Heping, the pioneer of probiotics in China and the director of the Key Laboratory of Dairy Science and Technology at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and the Ministry of Agriculture, to conduct postdoctoral research. Under the guidance of Professor Zhang Heping, he focused on the preparation and efficacy evaluation of prebiotics. During this period, Peng Chuantao conducted multiple animal and population experiments on the effects of Postbiotics on intestinal and skin health, achieving multiple leading results in Postbiotics. This also further strengthened Peng Chuantao's confidence in striving for rebirth and inspiring entrepreneurship.

Key nuclear "core"+key technology
Li Zhaojie, the founder of Yuanda Biotechnology, introduced that in the field of epigenetics, domestic research is still at the forefront of the world. The current research in the field of epigenetics mainly includes two aspects. On the one hand, it is a key preparation technology for epigenetic elements. Not all inactivated probiotics are effective. Therefore, it is very important to screen for prebiotics and their preparation techniques. Yuanda Biotechnology has a key core in this area - a strain resource library specifically designed for screening of epigenetic elements, with over 2000 strains currently collected. In addition, Yuanda Biotechnology has mastered the key preparation techniques for post biogenic elements, including efficient enrichment techniques for effective factors, through years of accumulation by the team. On the other hand, there is scientific evidence for the emergence of new elements. Postbiotics must undergo animal experiments or clinical trials to verify their efficacy, which is the direct basis for selecting products based on them.
